In need of an iPhone upgrade? There might not be too long left to wait for Apple’s next release.
Anyone wanting the latest and greatest iPhone might not have long left to wait for the next blockbuster upgrade from Apple. Rumours are rife that the US technology firm is planning some big changes for its iPhone 15 devices and they could be shown to the world within weeks.
Mirror Online has got our tech calendar out been doing some homework. Using past launches and knowledge of Apple’s previous release dates we’ve come up with our prediction of when all will be revealed.
Although nothing has yet been officially confirmed we expect Tuesday, September 12th to be the date new gadgets are shown to the world at Apple’s HQ in Cupertino. So how did we come up with that forecast?
Firstly, Apple almost always launches new iPhones in September and usually on a Tuesday – there’s nothing to suggest 2023 will be any different.
Tuesday, September 5th seems a little early and is also very close to all the news coming from the IFA tech show in Berlin which takes place during the first week of September.
Tuesday, September 19th could be a possibility but that would be much later than Apple has gone in the past and Tuesday, September 26th would mean the new smartphones aren’t physically launched in stores until October which isn’t something the firm usually likes doing.
That’s why the 12th seems like the ideal date.
HERE ARE ALL THE PREVIOUS LAUNCHES
iPhone 14 – Wednesday, September 7th 2022
iPhone 13 – Tuesday, September 14th 2021
iPhone 12 – Tuesday, October 13 2020 – COVID YEAR
iPhone 11 – Tuesday, September 10th 2019
Phone XS, XS Max and XR – Wednesday, September 12th 2018
iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X – Tuesday, September 12th 2017
So, what will be new on these devices? There are a swathe of changes expected including the Pro models getting slimmer bezels around the screen and much faster Apple silicon tucked inside.
A boost to the cameras is likely along with the introduction of USB-C charging for the very first time which means the end of Lightning port. Yes, these devices are switching away from that famous cable to adopt a more universal lead that’s also used on the iPad, MacBooks and almost all Android phones.
New colours, longer battery life and tougher design could also be something to watch out for along with the price.
Most rumours suggest that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will get a price hike in 2023.
If Mirror Online is correct and September 12 is the correct date then there only a few weeks left to find out what Apple really has in store for its next generation iPhone.
