Tesla’s first ever Investor’s Day is coming up on March 1st 2023, read on to find out what to expect…

Tesla is holding its first ever Investors day on March 1st, and Technoking Elon Musk is expected to reveal his “Masterplan 3”.

Musk calls this “the path to a fully sustainable energy future for Earth”. Details of this haven’t been confirmed, however it’s expected that details of Tesla’s new entry-level model will be revealed.

The Investor Day will be live streamed from Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin Texas at 9:00 pm on March 1st, so that’ll be 03:00 am on the 2nd here in the UK. Don’t fancy getting up at that time of the morning? Check back here for a full rundown of the event.

Tesla Investor Day: the Master Plan 3

Elon Musk recently announced on Twitter that he’d be revealing “Master Plan 3” on March 1st. The first Master Plan was to build a sports car, use the money from that to build a more affordable car, then use the money from that to build an even more affordable car. This spawned the first Roadster, the Model S and the Model 3.

So far so good then. “Part Deux” of the Master Plan came in 2016. Musk promised a “new kind of pickup truck” along with a semi truck. There was also mention of developing self-driving tech which was “10X safer than manual via massive fleet learning”. The Tesla Semi has come good, with production of that vehicle starting soon, however the Cybertruck has been in the prototype stage for four years now.

There’s no details of what part 3 of the Master Plan will entail, however it’s expected that Musk will discuss a new manufacturing process which will slash the cost of production, and therefore cut the price of new cars. A production version of the Cybertruck could also be revealed.

Tesla Investor Day: New entry-level EV reveal

A short press release on Tesla’s website hints that the new Tesla hatchback may be revealed at the Investor Day. Investors will be able to “discuss long term expansion plans (and) generation 3 platform”.

Elon Musk has already confirmed that work has begun on a smaller, cheaper EV which could be an alternative to the Volkswagen ID.3 and Cupra Born, and that this next-generation vehicle will be around half the cost of the Model 3 and Y.

That could lead to a new EV with a starting price as low as £22,000, however this hasn’t been confirmed yet. Expect more details on this new hatchback on March 1st.

Tesla Investor day: Cybertruck delivery update

The new Tesla Cybertruck was first revealed way back in 2019, but there’s been no sign of the production version, until now.

Prototypes of the Cybertruck have been spotted testing multiple times, suggesting that a production-ready car is nearly here. Elon Musk recently tweeted about his experience driving the prototype, describing it as “incredible”.

The production version of the Cybertruck could be revealed on March 1st, and those who put deposits down all those years ago may finally get one step closer to a delivery date.
