Cracked/pirated games are something that everyone knows. Now, because ransomware is coming from many sites and the games that are being released now are multiplayer based, many people buy games as legitimate or play the original game. That’s a really good thing. Sometimes pirated games include keyloggers, mining software, etc. inside those pirated games. Let’s talk about those things separately.
Most of the people in Sri Lanka don’t really have enough money to buy a game for $40-$50. That’s why it’s normal to be tempted to download pirated games. But remember that making a game is a big process, the developers have worked hard to finally release a beautiful product. So, if there is any way to support them, I will first make a small request to buy and play the original game.
This article is not a motivation to download pirated games, but what are these pirated games? This is to give a small idea of what Ripped, Reloaded and Repack games are.
Ripped Games
Okay, first let’s see what these ripped games are. These are also called GameRip. It is clear from the name that the size of the game is reduced as much as possible. It is called “Game RIP”. We talked about “Films RIP” in the previous post and those who haven’t seen it can check it here.

In both, the size is reduced, but in ripped games, not only the size is reduced. Even some scenes of the game are reduced. In short, Ripped games are. It was cut from the original game, and the size was reduced.
What is removed from the original game when doing GameRip?
Most of the time, rippers or those who do GameRip remove things like post-credits, extra video content, official soundtracks, background music, conversational audio (dialogue). After removing all these things, the next thing we use is a tool like Winrar and 7zip, but using a more advanced tool, the game is highly compressed and released. After that, you can download them, give a location of your choice, let it extract (usually 30 – 45 mins) and play the game.
Sometimes RIP is also called a backup of an original file. For example, after the release of a game, when we take a copy from the original source (DVD) of that game and create an ISO file, it is also called a RIP. There is no cutting like that, just a backup of the original file.
Reloaded Games
Reloaded is a very organized Warez group (a Warez group is a group of games/software/movies rippers). Many Reloaded games have been leaked before their release. The game that some people have seen in torrents has “Reloaded” or “RLD” at the end, they have pirated it.
There are many other Warez groups like Reloaded.

Actually cracking this game is not an easy thing. The source of the game has been reverse engineered. The part related to the activation is removed or changed. Reverse engineering is a very interesting topic and I will post about it later.
Sometimes the term “Reloaded” is used when re-uploading old files. Imagine that a game was removed from a place where you could download it. After that, other uploaders upload the game name and the word “Reloaded” at the end. At times like that, it’s not like Reloaded did it. A repost.
Repack Games
Game content will not be removed like in a Repack and a Rip. But a bit advanced highly compressing method is used than Ripped games. The selective installation method of Repacks is used a lot. That means we can select and install only the content we want.
For example, suppose we only want English cutscenes and conversational audio, then we can download only the English language pack. Then you can reduce a significant amount of hard disk space going to other languages. Repackers like Fitgirl repacks, RG Mechanics, and Xatab are at the top among those who release repacks.
In fact, in this case, the original source is taken and if it is a pre-cracked game, the crack is applied and then the quality is reduced like cutscenes videos and audios. Although the quality is said to be reduced, we do not see a significant difference in it, because if you reduce a 4K to 2K, you will not see a big difference. The audio quality is also the same, the quality is reduced to an unnoticeable level. (320kbps ->256kbps)
So the file that has reduced the quality like that. Use a tool like FreeArc, compress it, use tools like Inno Setup, create an installer and release it. Most of the time, repack games take time to extract because they compress more highly than other games, so reduce the size.
