Where is Sons of the Forest located?

Sons of the Forest is located on a remote island that is seemingly unrelated to the one found in 2014’s The Forest. Though both locations are filled with mutated creatures and bloodthirsty cannibals, the story is drastically different so it stands to reason that the developers would place the game on a completely different area.

Unfortunately, not much else is known about the island at the time of writing. Similar to how it was with the previous installment, the developers also aren’t providing much information about the place that the game is set in as they mainly focus on improving its other aspects throughout the early access period.

Early player reviews on Steam are praising the game so far for its enjoyable mechanics and thrilling combat. However, some aren’t quite satisfied with it as they feel that it plays too similar to The Forest.
