Players on all platforms can now download the update, which addresses known issues and introduces new features. Rocket Racing: Speed Run and Sprintspark Trail

One of the major highlights of Update 7.0.0 is the introduction of Season Zero of Rocket Racing. In v28.30, players can set records in the new Speed Run mode and climb up the Speed Run leaderboards. This new mode challenges players to prove their skills as the fastest Rocket Racing drivers against the toughest opponent of all: the clock.

Speed Run allows players to set the best possible lap time on variants of some of their favorite tracks, such as Riviera, Anaconda, and Olympus. Each match has a countdown timer of several minutes, giving players plenty of time to complete multiple laps and create their perfect route to the finish line. Additionally, players can unlock the Sprintspark Trail, along with its many colors, by completing quests in Speed Run.

During Speed Run matches, players may come across their ghost, a translucent representation of their best run in the match. The ghost is there to show players exactly how they drove on their best run, allowing them to correct any mistakes and shave precious seconds off their lap time.

Speed Run can be played in either public or private matches. Player collisions are turned off in Speed Run, allowing players to focus solely on their lap times. However, players are unable to catch slipstreams by drafting and starting line boosts are disabled in this mode as well.

The fastest run time on a track will be uploaded to that track’s Season leaderboard, allowing players to see how their skills rack up against drivers from around the world. Additionally, there is a friends leaderboard where players can compare their times with their Epic friends for bragging rights. It is important to note that the leaderboards will refresh each season, so players must continuously strive to improve their lap times.

To access the Speed Run mode, players can simply choose a track in Rocket Racing’s Speed Run row or select the Speed Run playlist with rotating tracks.

Alongside the introduction of Speed Run, players can also undertake electrifying quests. By completing runs in Speed Run, players can progress in the Speed Run Kickoff Quests. Completing the first Quest will unlock the new Sprintspark Trail, and completing the remaining Quests will unlock 13 paint colors for Sprintspark. These quests will be available until March 26, 2024, at 12 AM ET.

Mobile Improvements

Update 7.0.0 also brings further enhancements to playing Rocket Racing on mobile platforms. The touchscreen D-pad has been updated to a touchscreen joystick, allowing for better precision when driving. Players can adjust the sensitivity of the joystick in the settings to suit their preferences. Additionally, the visuals of the mobile HUD have been updated for a more immersive gaming experience.

Diestro in the Fortnite Ecosystem

Another exciting addition to Update 7.0.0 is the inclusion of the Diestro Car Body in the Fortnite ecosystem. The Diestro Car Body, originally from Rocket League, is a modern powerhouse that players can now take for a spin in Rocket Racing and other experiences across Fortnite. The Diestro Car Bundle, available in the Shop, includes the Diestro Car Body with 13 paint colors and various decals such as Chitchat, Lozano, Old Flame, Sooo Fly, Stripes, and Stuntman. It is important to note that the decals in the Diestro Car Bundle can only be equipped with the Diestro Car Body. Players who already own the Diestro Car Body and the decals in Rocket League will find them waiting in their Fortnite Locker thanks to cross-game ownership. Similarly, players who purchase the Diestro Car Bundle in Fortnite will have the contents available in Rocket League.

Xenosplash Boost and Lustrum X10 Wheels

Update 7.0.0 also introduces the Xenosplash Boost and the Lustrum X10 Wheels to the Fortnite ecosystem. Players can add a flash of excitement to their gameplay with the Xenosplash Boost, available in the Xenosplash Boost Bundle. This bundle includes the Xenosplash Boost along with 13 different paint colors. Additionally, players can pair the Xenosplash Boost with the Lustrum X10 Wheels, making their Fortnite debut. The Lustrum X10 Wheels Bundle includes the wheels with 12 different paint colors. Both the Xenosplash Boost and the Lustrum X10 Wheels are eligible for cross-game ownership.

Major Improvements and Bug Fixes

Update 7.0.0 brings a range of major improvements and bug fixes to enhance the overall gameplay experience in Rocket Racing. Some of these improvements and fixes include:

1. Air Roll: The ability to perform an Air Roll has been introduced. Players can now hold the left trigger button while midair (or the spacebar on PC) to steer and spin through the air. 5. Air Demolish Speed: The minimum speed required to demolish opponents in the air when hitting the front of their car has been increased to match that of demolishing opponents on the ground (400 KPH). This change ensures a consistent and balanced gameplay experience.

6. Drift Boosts: Achieving a new drift boost while one is already active will now always give players the full impulse for a short duration, rather than only making up the difference. In the previous version, smaller drift boosts were only 50% as effective as the active boost. This change improves the effectiveness and consistency of drift boosts.

7. Visual Steering During Drifting: While drifting, players’ wheels will now visually steer more sharply, enhancing the immersion and realism of gameplay.

8. Speed Pad Bonus Speed: Players can no longer receive bonus speed from a speed pad if their car already has an active stack of bonus speed from the same speed pad. However, bonus speed can still be stacked from multiple different speed pads. This change ensures a fair and balanced gameplay experience.

9. Aerial Drifts: An issue causing cars to sometimes launch backwards when landing an aerial drift after performing a lateral air dodge has been fixed. This bug fix prevents any unintended movement and ensures a smoother overall gameplay experience.

Fortnite Save the World: Hero Balance Changes

Update 7.0.0 also brings a series of hero balance changes to Fortnite Save the World. Some of the notable changes include:

1. Cloaked Shadow: Increased the base damage of Corrupted Aura.

2. Stare Down Southie: Reduced the time between shots for Bear Stare.

3. Fireflower Eagle Eye: Increased the base damage of the fireworks for Parting Gift.

4. Tricera Ops Ramirez: Saurian Vigor now has a shorter time between heals.

5. Black Knight Garridan: Knight’s Impact now also reduces the cooldown of Goin’ Constructor for each elimination with hardware.

6. Red Willow: Increased the base damage of Holiday Surprise.

7. Sentinel Hype: Going And Going increases D.E.C.O.Y.’s duration even longer.

8. Warden Kyle: B.A.S.E. M.D. provides increased base Health regen and now also provides Energy regen. Additionally, a heal-over-time effect now persists for a few seconds after stepping away from the B.A.S.E. structure.

9. Venturion: Blast Kick now deals increased base damage, and its damage type is now Energy. Furthermore, the Standard version of the Blast Kick Perk now fires all five projectiles.

10. Prickly Patroller Ramirez: Increased the overall damage of Prickly. Furthermore, the Standard version of Prickly now gives enemies Affliction damage over time, similar to the Commander version of the Perk.

11. Blakebeard: Reduced the number of Cannonball Grenades and Coconuts that drop from Blakebeard’s Stash at a time. Additionally, the number of Peg Legs players can hold at once has been limited, and they now break faster and more closely match the Power Level of the current mission. Lastly, Chests now despawn after one minute. These changes ensure a more balanced and challenging gameplay experience when interacting with Blakebeard’s Stash.

Improvements and Bug Fixes in Fortnite Save the World

Apart from the hero balance changes, Update 7.0.0 also includes various improvements and bug fixes in Fortnite Save the World. Some of these improvements and bug fixes include:

1. Separation of Filter and Sort selections for Perk Loadouts, allowing players to choose between Auto sort or sorting alphabetically.

2. Proper stun effect and increased stun duration for enemies hit by The Contender.

3. Ensuring that the Primal Shotgun’s Frenzy Perk, which activates upon eliminating a Mist Monster, persists even after switching weapons.

1. Common Bait Bucket (craftable at a Food Processor): The recipe for the Common Bait Bucket can be unlocked by adding a Fish Filet to the player’s inventory and having a Food Processor in their world.

2. Uncommon Bait Bucket (craftable at a Juicer): The recipe for the Uncommon Bait Bucket can be unlocked by adding a Common Bait Bucket to the player’s inventory and having a Juicer in their world.

3. Rare Bait Bucket (craftable at a Juicer): The recipe for the Rare Bait Bucket can be unlocked by adding a Common Bait Bucket to the player’s inventory and having a Juicer in their world.

4. Epic Bait Bucket (craftable at a Juicer): The recipe for the Epic Bait Bucket can be unlocked by adding a Common Bait Bucket to the player’s inventory and having a Juicer in their world.
