The Season 2 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone adds new maps, more Zombies content, additional Warzone features, and Space Marines. The patch notes for the big update also include bug fixes, weapon balancing, and changes to aiming across Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.
Season 2 Reloaded adds two new DLC weapons to unlock with the SOA Subverter battle rifle and Soulrender melee weapon. The midseason is also packed with three events themed around Warhammer 40,000, Dune, and more Zombies action. More details on Season 2 Reloaded’s content can be found here, including more maps and new game modes.
According to the patch notes, a change was made to aiming across both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. Now, when aiming down sight, the crosshair will transition directly to the center of the player’s screen rather than easing into position. The developer says the change is part of a continuous effort to improve the precision and responsiveness of aiming.
For Modern Warfare 3, the update adds Dome from Modern Warfare 2 to the map pool for quick play. It also makes adjustments to the Scrapyard map to refine the playable area boundary along the fence near the map’s helipad, and includes several adjustments to improve gameplay on the large-scale Operation Tin Man map for War mode.
The update includes weapon balancing for multiplayer. Season 2’s popular BP50 assault rifle is nerfed with several changes, including a 12% decrease to aim-down-sight movement speed, a 5% increase to aim-down-sight-time, and a 48% increase to horizontal recoil. The BAS-B battle rifle is also nerfed, with decreases to damage and damage ranges, making the rifle now a 4-shot kill to the torso and above within the near-medium damage range.
A few changes also arrive for Zombies mode. The update adds the new Warlord called Keres, and now defeating any warlord grants a guaranteed Wonder Weapon case. Keres will be the active warlord for the first week, but then the various warlords will go back on random rotation.
Additionally, the Greylorm Aether worm will no longer follow players to the final exfil helicopter, some zombie pathing problems were corrected, and several crashes and stability fixes are included.
Warzone’s update includes the Vondel map being added to standard battle royale mode. The map includes its own Champion’s Quest nuke challenge, but the rewards are the same as the Urzikstan map.
Several audio adjustments are included. It boosts the Ascender audio distance by 16 feet, and boosts the sound for parachute distances by 100 feet. It also adds a new and unique sound cue for reviving a player, so that revives are significantly more noticeable to nearby players.
The battle royale also gets some weapon balancing for the midseason. The BP50 assault rifle gets a similar nerf as the multiplayer side, with the gun receiving increased aim-down-sight time, decreased aim-down-sight movement speed, increased horizontal recoil, and more. The Holger-556 gets a buff to make it a more viable assault rifle, with an increase to max damage from 35 to 38, and a max damage range increase from 33.02 meters to 36.83 meters.
The popular Pulemyot 762 LMG also gets a significant nerf. The gun receives an increase to the strength of aim-down-sight idle sway, and greatly reduces the bullet velocity from 760m/s to 660m/s when using the popular Jak Annihilator Bullpup Kit conversion attachment.
The full patch notes can be found below for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3, as shared by Activision.
