Le second tour des élections en Géorgie de cette semaine a des implications très graves. Mais un coin d’Internet se concentre sur une ONU-angle sérieux. À savoir que le nouveau sénateur élu de Géorgie, Jon Ossoff, est un fan d’anime.

33-year-old Democrat Jon Ossoff campaigned against Republican David Perdue, in a high-stakes race that will determine the balance of the Senate. And while Ossoff doesn't drop as many pop culture references as fellow Georgia politician Stacey Abrams, he does have one viral anime tweet lurking in his internet history. Weirdly enough, it's an endorsement for an anime version of Les Miserables, posted in 2013 while he was studying for his master's degree.

There's also this rather cringey tweet from 2014. Boldly un-deleted after six whole years!

Despite not posting anything else anime-related on main, anime fans are claiming him as one of their own.

By millennial social media standards, this is extremely tame stuff. As more millennial and gen-Z candidates begin to run for office, it's only a matter of time before the internet sleuths unearth something more dramatic. Like, say, a DeviantArt account.
